Why I Make My Art
"I'll make sure you look great"
Bob Dale, Master Photographer
I have spent years in preparation for your family portrait. What you see in a short amount of time has taken years of studying the great portrait artists before me. The camera is a small part of it. My vision is what has taken years to hone. I see the fleeting moments of expression as they float by and choose the right time to activate the shutter. I do what most people can’t. Through my portraits, I show people how great they look.
WHAT INFLUENCES ME TO MAKE MY ART?
I am the recorder of society. I have chosen this skill and profession to record humanity in my small part of the world. Whether it is my personal art or my portrait art, I show the world how I see. How I see patterns, shapes, contrast, lightness, darkness, expression, love or connection, I show what I see, what I feel. About people, about places, about nature, about objects. I have been gifted with the ability to see in a certain way. All artists see in a certain way. We have a vision. And then we create the vision in the outer world by many means. Some thru clay, drawing or painting; or though photography.
I am influenced by paintings of people from hundreds of years ago. I record people now, for the future. Future generations will want to see how we were, how we dressed, how we looked. That's what I create in a loving family portrait
