What is a photo mug? It’s that cute mug with the face of your girlfriend or your wife in it! Most of us like drinking coffee or hot chocolate in the morning. Most of us drink these beverages in multi-colored mugs with cartoon characters, geometric designs, or even tea from those classic-looking porcelain tea cups with flower paints and other delicate designs. Why not drink our beverages from mugs with pictures of our loved ones instead?
Photo mugs are created via an image-transfer process that’s rather simple, but tedious if you do it yourself. So if you aim to give photo mugs in bulk, you might just be breaking your back making photo mugs yourself! Services like Snapfish.com actually take out the toil in creating photo mugs. The design is yours to pore over, but the hard work of transferring your images from photo to photo mug is theirs, allowing you to just sit back and wait while Snapfish.com comes up with your photo mugs. Isn’t that neat?
Photo mugs would be great birthday, Christmas, April Fool’s, even Labor Day gifts! How about sending them to friends and family for Easter? Or how about I-just-want-to-give-you-a-gift day? Photo mugs are great additions to your family’s Christmas tree stash, or even your best friend’s wedding gift stash. It also has possibilities as a wedding giveaway.
There is no end to what you can do with a photo and a mug, as facilitated by Snapfish.com. With a photo and a mug, get creative, and give gifts that melt the heart!

Three Things to Consider Before Booking Your Wedding Reception Site
September 13, 2007
Selecting an appropriate reception site is a crucial and at the same time a painstaking task ahead of any wedding. The reception site can bring uniqueness to your wedding, and therefore, all care must be taken before finalizing one for your wedding.
The true spirit of wedding reception lies in the reception site. The location of the site, the size, the decoration, and the theme – all contribute towards making your wedding moments ever memorable. The jingling bells at the door steps of an old tiki hut near a beach or a cozy candle-lit interior of a snow-clad farmhouse – the choices are many. It all depends on you and your budget.
However, when you start short listing the reception site, all sorts of problems crop up. The cost of hiring, the availability, the location, and finally the esthetic features of the place- all turn out to be the daunting issues.
How to save yourself from this nightmare? Follow these simple guidelines giving importance to the three important factors before finalizing on your wedding reception.
Type of the site
Wedding has become an opportunity for people to show their intelligence, esthetics, and of course their status. In short, we can say that a wedding reception brings out your overall personality. Instead of choosing a grand hotel environment or a commonplace banquet hall, you could always consider options such as an attractive mansion, historical sites, country clubs, cultural place, etc. Farm houses and beach clubs are also good options if you can accommodate your guests in them.
Location
Where do you get married? In your hometown? Your spouse’s hometown? A tourist location where both of you will enjoy the honeymoon? The choice is yours. However, if you are planning to invite a good number of guests, it would be ideal to choose a place convenient to all. You may not be able to carry them all to your ideal place. The reception site should be ideally placed, not too far from the major transport stations. You may easily get the list of available reception sites in different locations from the internet and can finalize one sitting at your desk itself. Most of the well-known reception sites have online booking services, and that makes your job pretty easy.
Capacity
The last but the most important concern while selecting the reception site should be the size of the hall. You are inviting your near and dear ones to an elegant occasion expecting the blessings from them, and so you will never want to see them frustrated and angry in the crowded place, searching for a chair here and there. Therefore it is important to verify the capacity of the space by yourself before finalizing the venue by listening to the opinion of others.
A wedding reception is the golden opportunity to show your friends and dear ones how much you love them, so you have to be very careful when arranging a place for them for this golden moment.
The 7 Day Photography Challenge
August 21, 2007
Everybody loves photography. The challenge many people have when taking photographs is remembering how their camera operates. I would relate it to a computer software program that you don’t use very often. It’s hard to remember how it works. Same thing with cameras. If you used your camera every day, you would have it’s operation burned in your brain.
So what’s the solution? I’m going to give you a 7 day challenge. Take your camera with you every day for the next 7 days and take at least 7 photographs per day. That shouldn’t be too hard. The benefits will be great.
What will you photograph? How about just everyday life. Who are you friends at work? What do you drive by every day that somebody from out of town would think is really cool? Photograph your children and your friends. Then send some of those photographs to the people that you photographed. Everyone loves getting photographs.
The great thing about photographs is that they are the threads of our life. It’s part of our human connection. It’s a small gift that you give to others. It’s saying that you value someone by taking their photograph. And their are other benefits you get. You get to “see” differently each day by noticing your surroundings more;being more “aware”. Plus it’s a great benefit to learn something new each day.
It’s only 7 photo’s per day. Who’s important enough in your life to photograph?
I would really like to hear about your 7 day journey. Please post your comments here at the bottom of the page.

Wedding Photography: How To Help Your Photographer
August 9, 2007
Capturing the memories on the big day is important for everyone involved. Your family members and friends will no doubt want to relive the moments, which can put a bit of pressure on a professional photographer looking to do a perfect job. Understanding how to take advantage of the situation is crucial for a photographer to produce unforgettable shots. Invest your money wisely and hire a professional photographer, don’t gamble with your wedding photos by hiring a part time photographer. Essentially, the ultimate goal is to compile a wedding album that helps those involved to relive the moments so that they are able to remember them with vivid detail. How can this be accomplished?
Ask for help from your family and friends
The key is to understand emotions. A picture is only worth a thousand words if it is taken at the right time. Wedding photographers should always consider the significance of the day in terms of everyone involved. Therefore, the mindset of a photographer should be to focus on the group as a whole. Make sure your wedding photographer has the opportunity to interact with everyone so that the desired shots can be taken. The reactions of friends and relatives during those unforgettable moments will make fine additions to the finalized photo album.
Group shots should also not be overlooked; many will want to remember exact moments in time with those close to them. Therefore, getting everyone together can make for some lovable memories that can be shared by all. By taking group images, a more memorable photo can be produced since the importance of the whole group on that special day will be emphasized.
Make Your Photos Count
A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime moment for everyone. From the clothes that are worn to the words that are spoken, never again will the participants be able to live a similar day. Therefore, getting in those simple shots is essential. Your garments, as well as those of your parents and relatives, are memories in themselves since they emphasize the beauty and uniqueness of that special occasion. Taking advantage of this notion and providing the opportunity to capture these timely images can be a strong benefit to a photographer since he/she can produce a plethora of photos that focus on the lovely appearance of all those present.
Evidently, time plays a strong role in how memorable a photo can be. For instance, the moment of that first kiss is extremely valuable since it is a span of probably 5-10 seconds that can never be reenacted. Photographers understand that timing is vital. Those first precious moments as a married couple provide memories that will never be forgotten, and being able to relive them is one of the greatest gifts that a photographer can provide.
Your Wedding Can Have A “Mood”
A wedding is unquestionably one of the most memorable events that can be experienced. Displaying current feelings or states of mind will help in giving the professional photographer a chance to capture the thoughts that are racing through an individual’s head. For instance, right after you are pronounced husband and wife, you may want to take a serious shot that demonstrates how it feels to now have a soul mate. After that, a more relaxed, overjoyed expression can be exemplified through simple facial representations such as a smile.
Understanding the mood of the current situation plays a large impact in how the photographer will be able to work. Be sure to hire a professional photographer with many years of experience. Be aware that there are many NEW people who claim to be professional photographers. Just because someone buys a “good” camera doesn’t mean that they have the skill to operate it, or more importantly, that they have “people skills” to give work with your family and friends.
