Holiday Photo Tip
November 23, 2007
Here’s one of my TOP SECRET PHOTO TIPS I reserve for only my best friends……and I’m spilling the beans to my most devout readers.
When amateur photographers take a photo of family or friends at holiday gatherings, they only take one photo………pros always take at least TWO. That’s it. Pretty simple, huh?
If the group is larger than 3 people, I will take three or four photos so I catch the best expressions and increase my odds of everybody’s eyes being OPEN.
Take more photos of the group and you will increase the odds of getting better photos!
Make Your Photos Into Great Gifts
October 14, 2007
Today it seems as though life passes by rather quickly. It seems as though we watch our children grow up really fast, right before our eyes. Now there is a great thing that you can do to surround yourself with cherished photographs in fun ways.
There are a lot of different custom photography gifts that you could purchase but the most common include calendars, photo books and greeting cards. Of course, each of these very special gifts are best suited for different people. In order to see which one may be best for you, let’s take a look at each of them.
First, the custom photography calendars are large, premium calendars printed on the same heavy paper that any other calendar is printed on then held together with something like white coil binding. Herein you can choose what photographs you want to use for each month and what month the calendar starts with, making it even more versatile and useful for you. It is also nice to note that there are also different sizes available, depending upon your needs.
Secondly, you can purchase a photo book wherein your personal pictures turn into treasured keepsakes. These are great if you want to create a family heirloom and you can choose from various styles, colors and covers for these books.
Third, there are high-quality custom photo greeting cards that are perfect for any occasion. Here you can choose both the image and the greeting that you want to use. Usually these cards are available on both 5×7″ and 4×8” heavy card stock and come with matching envelopes.
As you can see, any of these things would make great gifts. Of course, they would also be wonderful to have around so that you can view your cherished photos whenever you want.

How To Get The Photos In Your Computer Printed
September 22, 2007
In today’s world it seems that we are all rushed for time. Many of us really like taking photographs so that time can stand still for us for a few minutes as we look at how these photographs turned out though. Nevertheless, how many times have you taken a photograph that you have been unable to find the time to take and get printed out? If you are like most people, there are too many times to count.
This does not have to be the way it is though. Did you know that there are ways in which you can get your digital photos printed online? There are numerous places that are willing to do this for you and it is actually a lot easier to do than you may imagine. It is also a lot more cost effective than you may think too. In fact, you can usually find places that will print out your photos for 12 cents per print and then mail them to you via the United States Postal Mail Service. Of course, there are also some web sites that will allow you to pick up your photographs in their store that is local to you but why would you want to do that if they can arrive at your front door.
So, how do you go about doing this? First you need to register your name, email and address with the service that you are choosing to use. From there, it really is as easy as following some simple instructions about uploading and ordering your pictures. Once all of this is done you will receive an email whenever your order is received as well as when it is dispatched.
If you are short on time and need some photographs printed out for you, this really is the way to get it done.

The 7 Day Photography Challenge
August 21, 2007
Everybody loves photography. The challenge many people have when taking photographs is remembering how their camera operates. I would relate it to a computer software program that you don’t use very often. It’s hard to remember how it works. Same thing with cameras. If you used your camera every day, you would have it’s operation burned in your brain.
So what’s the solution? I’m going to give you a 7 day challenge. Take your camera with you every day for the next 7 days and take at least 7 photographs per day. That shouldn’t be too hard. The benefits will be great.
What will you photograph? How about just everyday life. Who are you friends at work? What do you drive by every day that somebody from out of town would think is really cool? Photograph your children and your friends. Then send some of those photographs to the people that you photographed. Everyone loves getting photographs.
The great thing about photographs is that they are the threads of our life. It’s part of our human connection. It’s a small gift that you give to others. It’s saying that you value someone by taking their photograph. And their are other benefits you get. You get to “see” differently each day by noticing your surroundings more;being more “aware”. Plus it’s a great benefit to learn something new each day.
It’s only 7 photo’s per day. Who’s important enough in your life to photograph?
I would really like to hear about your 7 day journey. Please post your comments here at the bottom of the page.

Make Your Childs’ Birthday Party Into A Digital Photo Album Book
August 12, 2007
It’s your little girl’s first birthday. The only problem is your parents are a thousand miles away and they just couldn’t make it this time. How are you going to share this once-in-a-lifetime event (aren’t all birthdays?) with them? Create your own customized book just for them. Not only is it easy, but it’s a great gift for their next birthday!
Take lots of pictures with your handy digital camera. Don’t worry – you don’t need to pay for all the prints because you’re just going to put them on the computer. You can decide then what photos you want to keep and which ones you want to get rid of. Once you have the ones you want, go online and put them into your own custom site. You can organize them however you want for future reference and use them over and over – it’s simple!
Now that you have your photos ready, create a storybook for your mom and dad. Show the presents, the cake and, of course the birthday girl. Make sure you get a picture of her blowing out the candle, then put them into a book. You can even scan the wrapping paper and use it as a background for some pages. You get to decide and tell the story the way you want. You can put as much description with the photos as you need or want. Tell who brought which present. Of course, she will probably like the wrapping paper best, but that’s okay. That’s what’s great about being little – and sharing those memories.
When your parents get their customized album, they will be right there as it happened. Even if they couldn’t make the trip, they still will get to enjoy the party.

Baby Photography Tips For New Parents
August 9, 2007
While the young ones may provide for some memorable, adorable photos, it can be a bit hectic when trying to get in those priceless shots. With all of the crying, whining, and sleeping, finding the perfect time to capture a baby shot can be very challenging. Using the appropriate skills to cope with a child is crucial in producing those unforgettable photos.
First, patience is key. You must understand that scuffling around with a baby for hours may only provide the opportunity to produce three or four quality images. Child psychology plays an important role in calming the baby so that he/she is able to remain still for a period of time. When taking the photograph, the baby should not view posing as work; you should always make sure that the baby feels that he/she is in a playful atmosphere so that there is no reason to whine. Moreover, rewarding the baby regularly for cooperating will teach the child that his/her efforts are not going unnoticed.
Understanding the capabilities in terms of the age of your baby is crucial in developing the appropriate mindset. Newborn babies are very inactive, and headshots should be the only focus. At a few months old, babies can become a bit more active and even show some signs of alerted movement. Eventually, your baby becomes so fidgety that it will be extremely difficult to keep him/her still. Unfortunately, with this increased activity comes increased fatigue. As your baby grows older, time becomes a factor since a few hours of shut-eye becomes a regular habit.
